Coaxial Fixed Attenuators are passive radio frequency components utilized for reducing the power level of a signal in a coaxial transmission line. These are mostly utilized in microwave and RF systems for controlling signal levels in order to preventing damage to sensitive components, and improving system performance. They are engineered for providing a particular level of attenuation, or reduction in signal power, usually measured in decibels. Coaxial Fixed Attenuators are made up of a coaxial connector on each end, generally SMA or N-type connectors, with a resistive element, which can be manufactured from materials, like carbon, thin film or metal film.
